It
can be done during lunch, while you read your paper, or on your way
home from work.
Every two seconds someone
in America needs blood. Yet
only 5% of eligible
people currently give blood.
To help increase local blood supply Irvine Kiwanis and Sports Club Irvine
together with Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive on
January 27, 2004 from
12 noon to 6 pm.
Our goal is to collect 100 pints of blood and we invite
new and current donors to come and give blood — the gift of life.
Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have cancer, blood
disorders, sickle cell, anemia and other illnesses. Some people need
regular blood transfusions to live.
Imagine if giving blood was part of everyone's life. Something you did on
a regular basis, like eating at your favorite restaurant. What kind of
difference would that make? For nearly 5 million people who receive blood
transfusions every year, your donation can make the difference between
life and death.
Giving blood is simple,
safe and can easily be scheduled into your daily
activities.
